Multichoice Launches Auditions For BBNaija Season 5

                  

Drama, intrigue and suspense are set to return to our screen in a bit as Multichoice Nigeria, the organisers of Big Brother Naija (#BBNaija), recently released a statement on its website, announcing the beginning of auditions for the 5th edition of the exciting and riveting Nigerian reality show.

It announced that auditions for the show will begin on Wednesday, May, 20th and end on Saturday, May, 30th, 2020 while the show proper will begin in July 2020.

BBNaija is arguably the most popular Nigerian TV show outside Nollywood as it commands a cult-like following among the wide spectrum of its fans. Confirming this assertion while speaking on the return of the show; Mr. John Ugbe, CEO Multichoice Nigeria said, '' Big Brother Naija has been widely regarded as one of Africa's biggest entertainment exports, being the biggest showcase of Nigeria's diversity outside of core Nollywood. This fifth season promises to be more adventurous, exciting  and entertaining, and will undoubtedly be the biggest thing on African television in 2020 ".

Speaking further, he said, " The timing of the show is particularly important, given the dominance of COVID-19 pandemic;...viewers and stakeholders alike can rest assured that global best practises, precautions and preventive measures will be followed throughout the show, even as we guarantee the premium entertainment BBnaija is renowned for ".

Auditions for the 5th season is free and and open to only Nigerians and is strictly online (in conformity with social distancing directive of the Government, considering the army of youths who usually turn out for the live auditions in previous editions). 

Other conditions for eligibility include the following;  

• Interested Male and female Nigerian must have a valid Nigerian passport and must be 21 years of age by june1, 2020.
• Participants are to record a 2- minute video of themselves stating why they should be picked to be housemates in the season 5 of the Big Brother Naija. only after recording the video, will they need to fill out the online registration form and upload the video below.
• Participants are to asnwer all questions on the form fully and honestly. If it is discovered that they have been deliberatley untruthful or have witheld information relevant to thgeir character not their past, they will be disqualified from the selection process.

This year's Big Brother Naija just like the previous seasons promises to be as entertaining as it will be lucrative and life-changing for both viewers and participants respectively. Following series of eviction, previous winners have always ended up having thier fortune changed for good with their prizes and endorsements rolling into several million.  

The 4th BBN edition themed "pepper dem" produced the first female winner in Mercy Eke who was gifted N60m worth of prizes.

Previous winners are Katung Aduwak(2006), Michael Efe Ejeba(2017), Miracle Igbokwe(2018 ).
